In Search of a Lust

Today was kinda cute. I actually got to take the free dance classes I wanted to! Last night I went downstairs and cleaned up the two rooms that Mom is trying to rent to someone. We were supposed to clean today, but it would have gotten in the way of me going to the classes. The prospective tenant had a 3′o clock appointment to see the place today; turns out the lady NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP. DONE.

Anyways, Juleen and I went to take the classes with Creative Jenius at the Worldwide Plaza location from 1:30PM to 4PM. Love a free class day! It was fun… we got to take two classes: one with Jerome Harris to “Thirsty” by Cassie and another with DS to “Suga” by Busta Rhymes. Really dope stuff, and I can still feel the effort in my calves, haha! I hope to do some work study with Creative Jenius and hopefully become a full-time teacher with them. They are really doing an amazing thing for dancers… making it affordable and accessible to more people. We’ll see.

Juleen came home with me and I made a reckless birthday card for her ex-boyfriend. I labeled the back “Hallmark: Recession” because it was necessary. I hate myself.

Oh, and I snapped a shot from a store in my neighborhood. Enjoy, while I go cry myself to sleep in shame:

Dip, DA-dip-dip, DA-dip-dip, BAM!

I’m pretty sure my relationship with my mother’s boyfriend is reaching new heights now that he has added me on MySpace and thinks that my middle name is spelled “Divad.” No worries; I’ll be blocking his account soon enough (LOL, jk!). Oh, and my name is David, girl.

I spent most of today with Guillermo. Just got home from hanging with him like an hour ago, actually. He’s one of the only people that completely understands my humor, which is great. We’ve been friends for a long time now. And we have a commemorative video of our friendship as of earlier today. You should make one too! Go ahead, I’ll wait. (http://www.xtranormal.com/). Wait… it actually took me almost two hours to finish my first video. You’re better off making one when you’re done reading this entry. Yeah.

I’m rambling but it’s fine.

I think I dislocated the left side of my jaw in a fit of rage this morning. I woke up briefly, gnawed my teeth together, and jutted my lower mandible to the right. I felt pain in the left side of my mouth, then fell back asleep. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a fucking dream because I can still feel that shit to this very moment. I wonder if it exists as a specific type of dream… like one where you physically harm yourself subconsciously? WAS I SLEEPWALKING? … but not actually walking though? I can’t deal with myself at this hour. I refuse.

Earlier today, on AIM, someone IMed me with a screenname like “AmAzIn PaPi 7483247″ or some shit. He asked if I wanted to “talk” and gave his A/S/L (WHO THE FUCK still does that? Have I been out of the internet dating game too long?). I replied, “No, I’m taken,” to which he replied, “Aiight my nigga I was just lookin for friends, but u good tho.” I can’t take a web thug. Especially one from New Jersey! BYE!

I miss Rasheda and Kate. And Amir. And Domino’s BreadBowls. And Amanda Rae. And my spider/ant-infested dorm room. It’s sad how being away from home makes me so cold towards it sometimes. I am glad to have my privacy, though; my mom can no longer enter my bedroom directly from hers. This 21 year old can now have his “own room” and I can go to bars and all clubs! … yet this 21 year old still doesn’t pay for his own phone bill, yessssss!

Driving Ms. Vereen P. Watkins

almost there

do NOT judge me

I have never completed this quiz on Sporcle.com by myself, much less with the help of someone else. I just missed a few! My new laptop hard drive came today, and I’m waiting for the operating system to reinstall, blah blah blah.

Today was nice. Mom and I attended a performance that my sister sang in at her school. There are some really talented students at her school! The bands and choral groups were especially great. Could NOT deal with how gutter and rowdy the audience was though. Literally could not. I recorded my sister’s little solo and I plan to upload it to YouTube when I get the chance, so look out for an announcement! You’ll hopefully probably get to see how out of control the crowd was as well.

Oh, looks like my laptop needs my assistance. Peace.

Finally back home in Brooklyn!

I got back here on Sunday morning around 4am. I had literally been traveling for 12 hours from school when the trip should’ve only been 3 hours long in a car. It’s just one of those things that I’d like to forget and pretend didn’t really happen.

Being home has been nice. Guillermo came to chill with me yesterday and we had fun. I’m getting used to waking up in my real bed, even though I’ve been feeling weird every morning (headaches, profuse drooling, etc). All the home routines are coming back to me: doing chores, bothering my mom when she sleeps in late, bathing in my brother’s attitude, singing with my little sister, dancing and hurting myself on random objects in the house, catcalling to the honeys outside my bedroom window offering hopes of a Rapunzel-like happy ending at the roots of my “auburn” tresses. Yeah, being home is nice.

Yesterday I found out that my laptop’s hard drive is completely dead, which is the furthest thing from good. I think it might have been due to a virus because, in the past month, I’d been seeing a shitload of pop-ups while on the internet and Amir says that’s a symptom. I can’t. So I chatted online with this Dell Representative named Navindurthar (or some shit) and he led me through a hard-drive diagnostics exam. All in all, my hard drive no longer works… at all. I’ve lost all of my music, my videos, my photos and my documents (and their importance is in that order, trust). Dell’s sending me a new one within three business days. I secretly hope that it will at least have a nice collection of *questionable* videos already saved to it.

I’ve moved to WordPress because my brother also uses it, and it seems nice enough. The better reason is that it will allow more of my readers to comment on my entries. My Xanga.com journal only allowed Xanga users to give me hatemail and criticisms. Now I can be criticized by the whole world! But seriously, don’t do that to me.

I’m currently filling out these forms for a dance internship I got accepted to this summer. It’s with the Sankofa Dance Project, and it’s a week long African dance experience with some great teachers, I hear. I’m so hype! I’ve taken West African Dance twice on my home campus and it’s been a major highlight in my technique. Can’t wait!

Let me go finish this paperwork and REWRITE MY RESUME SINCE IT GOT DELETED FROM MY LAPTOP.

… bye
